Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
Overview
Equinox Research ("we," "us," or "our") conducts independent public-opinion research across the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through equinoxresearch.org (the "Site") and our surveys, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site or participating in a survey, you agree to the practices described here. This policy is effective as of October 9, 2026.
Information we collect
We collect the following information when you choose to provide it or interact with our forms:
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, and message.
- Opt-out requests: the phone number or email address you ask us to remove, along with any optional note you include.
- Survey responses: your answers to survey questions and, if you choose to provide them, demographic details (such as age range, gender, and ZIP code) and contact information.
- Technical information: when you submit a form, we record a one-way, salted hash of your IP address solely to rate-limit abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to questions and feedback you send us.
- Process opt-out requests and remove your contact information from future outreach.
- Conduct, analyze, and report public-opinion research, using grouped, anonymous results.
- Protect the Site from spam, abuse, and automated submissions.
Surveys and confidentiality
Participation in our surveys is entirely voluntary. We report survey results in aggregate form. We do not sell your individual responses, and we do not share personally identifiable survey responses with third parties except as needed to operate our business (for example, service providers that host our data) or as required by law.
Cookies and analytics
This Site uses minimal cookies that are necessary for the Site to function. Some survey pages may use analytics or advertising measurement tools, such as the Facebook Pixel, to understand how visitors arrive at a survey. These tools may place cookies on your device and are governed by the providers' own privacy policies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Declining cookies will not prevent you from using the contact or opt-out forms.
Data retention and security
We keep contact form messages and opt-out requests only as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a record of your removal from outreach. Survey responses are retained for research purposes. We protect information in transit with encryption and store it in access-controlled systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us has raised a security concern, please contact us.
Your choices
You have the following choices regarding your information:
- Opt out of future survey outreach at any time using the opt-out form on the homepage, or by replying STOP to any text message we send.
- Ask us what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through the form on the homepage.
Children's privacy
Our surveys and this Site are intended for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
